Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

The Uniconnect Edge application supports Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) to enhance the security of user access. MFA adds an additional layer of protection by requiring users to verify their identity using more than just their username and password.

Multi-Factor Authentication should be enabled from the Uniconnect Platform by the system administrator. Once Multi-Factor Authentication is activated for a user account on the platform, the additional authentication requirement is automatically enforced when the user logs into the Edge application.

During the login process, the agent first enters their Uniconnect credentials. After successful credential verification, the system prompts the user to complete the second authentication step, typically by entering a one-time verification code generated through the configured authentication method.

  • Delivery Channels: Codes are delivered via Email or SMS (requires the SMS Module to be enabled on the platform).

  • Time-Bound Verification: The code is valid for a limited window (typically 3 minutes) to prevent unauthorized use.

By requiring this second verification factor, Multi-Factor Authentication helps protect user accounts from unauthorized access, even if login credentials are compromised. This significantly improves the overall security of the communication environment and ensures that only authorized agents can access the Edge application and its features.
